This is the 4th bottling of our Welcome blend. The 2022 Welcome is a blend of Malvasia Bianca and Viognier. This wine was fermented in stainless steel for 7 months. Untoasted French Oak chips were introduced during primary fermentation. On the nose, you get delightful aromas of white flowers, nectarine, and peach. On the palate, you'll pickup grapefruit, orange blossom, and guava resulting in a light-bodied blend with a clean, crisp finish.
We have enjoyed learning the history of Brown County. We have tried to reference Texas history in the naming of some of our wines. We thought it was important to add a name with local impact. Welcome Chandler, credited as the first settler in Brown County was also a farmer, county judge, postmaster, and store owner. Our goal with our tasting room has always been to create a welcoming place, so the name Welcome seemed very appropriate.
